The
project will work with the rhythm of the seasons
in northern Mozambique:
January to April - shallow wells
are tested to ensure ground water supply is adequate
and not polluted. All preparation and planning
will be completed (rain season).
May to November -
all direct construction work will be completed (dry
season) including partially or totally casing the
well structure to ensure it is secure and fitting
with standard hand pump that is easily maintained
by communities.
January-December -
the community will receive training in technical
management & water
education throughout the full year.
December - the project
will be complete in advance of the rainy season.
Note:
In 2006, Concern Universal Mozambique will provide
a satellite photograph highlighting the communities
where projects will be implemented. We will go back
and visit these communities to see the water flowing,
education programs in action and most importantly
smiles on faces. Updates will be provided on the
website. |
