Competition Terms & Conditions
1. Rules:
These terms and conditions and any competition notices
are the competition rules ("Rules").
By entering Project: Gift ‘competition’,
entrants agree to be bound by these Rules.
2. Entry:
Entry premium rate phone call or text costs £1.50
plus your standard network phone or text charge (call
duration is one minute. Network charges may vary).
35p from every phone entry is
maintained by BT for services provided, with £1.15 going directly
to Project: Gift’s lead partner Concern Universal
(NGO & registered charity).
60p from every text is distributed
to BT & mobile
networks, for services provided. 90p from every text
is distributed directly to Project: Gift’s
lead partner Concern Universal (NGO & registered
charity). All money raised from Project: Gift will
be spent turning our aim into a reality in Northern
Mozambique.
Entrants must answer a multiple-choice
question and register call back number and full
name. Entrants under the age of 16, or not the
phone account holder or owner, must ask permission
from their parent/owner/account holder.
Premium rate phone calls may
sometimes be automatically barred from your work
phone or mobile. Please contact your employer
or mobile network if you want to change options
or call from home ...
If entering
from the work place, employees must secure their
employers’ permission to
take part.
By submitting their entry, entrants will be deemed
to have agreed to be bound by these rules.
3. Number of Entries Allowed:
Multiple entries are permitted. Each entry will be
charged per Point 1. There is a limit of one gift
(‘prize’) per person.
4. Entry Number or Text:
To enter, phone the Project: Gift competition line
on 0904 161 0001 from 9:00am, December 1, 2005.
Or text the key word gift to 84010, followed by
your answer (a, b, c) to the multiple choice question,
then your gift selection (1, 2, 3, 4) and finally
your name. eg gift a 1 rob
5. Closing Date:
Entries close 6pm on December 26, 2005.
Entry deadline
has been extended to February 28, 2006.
6. Prizes:
a. See Priceless Gifts & More Gifts for a full
description of gifts (‘prizes’).
b. All taxes, insurances, transfers, accommodation,
spending money and other expenses (including meals
or personal expenses upgrades etc.) as the case may
be, unless specifically stated in description, are
the sole responsibility of the gift winner.
c. All gifts shall be awarded at the discretion of
Project: Gift, are non transferable and will not
be awarded as a result of improper actions by or
on behalf of contestants, illegal or otherwise.
d. No cash or other alternatives will be offered
in place of specified gifts, but Project: Gift reserves
the right to change prizes without liability.
e. Where gift involves travel, entertainment tickets
or licensed venue:
(i) winner’s under the age of 18 must be accompanied
by an adult. Project: Gift reserves the right to
request written proof of age and identity of any
winner.
(ii) winner’s must hold a valid passport and
visa requirements
(iii) winner’s preferred tickets are subject
to availability
f. Claims for gifts must be made within the time
specified in a winner’s letter. Failure to
claim by the time or in the manner specified will
make the claim invalid and a new winner will be selected
in accordance with these rules. No correspondence
will be entered into.
7. Entry Restrictions:
a. Any resident outside of the United Kingdom.
b. Organizers or volunteers of Project: Gift will
not be eligible.
c. Employees of any Company, which has donated a
gift, will not be eligible to win that particular
gift.
8. Independence Of Judging:
Project: Gift winners will be randomly drawn from
all correct entries.
9. Winner Notification:
Winners will be notified by telephone and/or letter
within 2 weeks of competition end date (December
26, 2005) and their name will be published on the
Project: Gift website www.projectgift.org. Winners
may also be required to participate in publicity.
Some random gifts may also be drawn before the
competition end date – winner’s would
be notified by a media partner.

11. Disclaimers:
a. In the event of any dispute regarding the rules,
conduct or the results of any competition, the
decision of Project: Gift shall be final.
b. Project: Gift reserves the right to stop a competition
and/or to vary these rules at any time without prior
notice.
c. All entry instructions given are deemed to form
part of the rules of the competition to which they
relate.
d. Project: Gift is not responsible for any problems
or technical malfunction of any telephone network
or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers,
computer equipment, software failure of any email
or entry to be received on account of technical problems
or traffic congestion on the telephone line or network.
Nothing shall exclude Project: Gift’s liabilty
for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
e. Project: Gift cannot accept any responsibility
for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered
by any entrant entering the competition or as a result
of accepting any gift.
f. These rules shall be governed by the laws of England.
12. Data Collection:
Winners may be requested to take part in promotional
activity and Project: Gift reserves the right to
use the names of winners, their photographs and
audio and/or visual recordings of them in any publicity.
Any personal data relating to entrants
will be used solely in accordance with current UK
data protection legislation and will not be disclosed
to a third party. |
